Most heavy lifts inside Al Ruwais petrochemical zones and pipeline corridors fail at one specific point — the load is within the crane’s rated tonnage, but the required working radius drains so much capacity that the machine operates dangerously close to its structural limit. The Grove GMK 5150L exists to solve exactly this problem. Its 68-metre main boom and 32-tonne configurable counterweight system maintain safe working loads at radii where our 100-ton unit can no longer deliver adequate safety margins. This is the crane our engineers specify when the lift plan shows a 100-ton crane operating above 80% of chart capacity at the project radius — the point where one unexpected gust of wind or a slight ground shift separates a controlled lift from a critical incident.

When 100 tons is not enough — the radius problem
The question contractors ask most often: “Why can’t the 100-ton crane handle this — the load is only 8 tonnes?” The answer is always radius.

Note: Highway transit requires an escort vehicle and route permit. Our logistics team arranges both as part of the mobilisation — no separate coordination required from your side.
